International Conference: Sustainability Issues and Challenges in Tourism

The Department of Tourism Administration is a four year program giving a Bachelor of Arts Degree. The Department had its first graduates in the year 1999-2000. Students enter the Department through the Central University Examination.

By successfully completing the accreditation process, the Department qualified in 2001 to have TED-QUAL, the certificate in tourism education authorized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.


Student Exchange Program

Students can complete one semester of their program in a university abroad which has an exchange agreement with Boğaziçi University.


Academic Advisory System

Each student entering the Department is assigned an academic advisor who gives help and guidance to the students in all academic matters. Students also can get the support of the Department Student Affairs Representative in issues related to their program, registration, summer training and such.

History of the Department

The Tourism Administration Department was founded in 1976 as a two-year the tourism and hotel management program within the School for Vocational Studies of Boğaziçi University. Upon the establishment of the School of Applied Disciplines in 1996, the Department started to give four-year tourism education leading to a Bachelor of Arts Degree in tourism administration.
